A Blountville, Tenn., kennel owner’s trial is the first time a dog importer has been prosecuted in the United States, according to a California attorney who has followed the issue for several years.

American Kennel Club Obedience and Rally Trials continue today at the Bossier Civic Center in Bossier City. The two-day event began Saturday with 90 exhibitors showing one to three dogs each. Dog owners from Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas and Mississippi are in town for the event.
